This movement was manufactured in 1904 by the Waltham Watch Company outside of Boston. The Crescent Street grade gets its name from the street on which the original Waltham factory was located and it was predominantly made for use on the railroad. Crescent Street's have a high level of decoration as well as outstanding performance.
This excellent condition piece features waved damascening and checkered graining on the iconic Waltham split style nickel plated bridges, 21 precision cut ruby and sapphire jewels, gold jewel settings, gold center wheel, gold starwheel regulator, adjustment to positions, and adjustment for temperature.
The blued steel, whipped-spade style hands point to bright, black, serifed Arabic numerals accented by a red 5-minute track in the outer margin. The original, double-sunken enamel dial is in almost perfect condition. This movement is one of 23,225 made.
