The Red Rocks Limited Edition is a custom built watch based on the design of Vortic Watch Company's Red Rocks Hall of Fame Edition watches.
The Red Rocks Limited Edition is available for sale to the public and only 10 of each style (Bronzed or Blackened) will be available in the 2018 Edition. As featured in Denver's 5280 magazine, this watch is the perfect gift for any Red Rocks fan.
Part of the American Artisan Series by Vortic, this watch is built using an original antique pocket watch timepiece. The dial (face) of the watch was CNC milled from a block of steel in Vortic's Fort Collins, Colorado workshop.
The case is 3Dprinted titanium and has been heat treated to appear Bronze (Bronzed option) or Black (Blackened option). For the Bronzed option, the dial (face was also heat treated to appear bronze.
These watches are each custom built, one at a time, in Fort Collins, Colorado by Vortic's master craftsmen. The antique movements inside are manually wound and will keep time for about 30 hours on one wind. They are original antique Illinois pocket watch movements, specifically the 12size Illinois model 405. The movements were made sometime between 1910 and 1925 and each piece will be unique.
We found antique Illinois pocket watch movements that we couldn't use because their dials were too rusted or cracked. We thought they were goners, but then we thought... maybe we can make a dial?! We did. And if you've been following us for a while you might notice this is the first watch with our name on the face.
Milled from a disc of steel, these dials were designed, CNC milled, heat treated, and laser etched all inside our Fort Collins, CO manufacturing facility. We restored the original movements and hands of the pocket watches, applied our custom dials, and designed the rest of the watches to match the aesthetic.
Each watch will come with a certificate telling you the specific story of that pocket watch movement inside as well as everything you need to know about the watch. It will also come with a custom engraved watch box which can be personalized with your name at no additional cost (just like we do for the famous artists!).
Please contact us for additional information, but don't wait too long as these will go fast. Production and delivery will be 2-3 weeks from time of order.

Our mission is to preserve and enhance the legacy of manufacturing excellence in America. We believe that this legacy is highly relevant in the world of watch manufacturing because our goal is to marry form and function in a way that makes something beautiful that will last forever. American made pocket watches were of such a high quality and decoration that they evolved into more than just a way to tell time. They became traditional heirlooms to be inherited by future generations as a wedding gift or a coming of age treasure. Each piece tells a lively tale of what U.S. manufacturing meant in the past using an intricate language of decorated bridges, plates, gears, and springs. Today, we are restoring these pieces to their former glory and making them relevant again using the best of modern technology.
We feel proud and blessed to live in the country, state, and city that we do. However, our motivation to build everything in the United States, and to deal locally whenever possible, is derived from a different source of inspiration. We believe that the close relationships, face-to-face interaction, and tight quality control we achieve while dealing domestically produces a truly superior product. Because of this, we are very transparent about where our components are made as we continue to build our in-house capabilities.
