Watch Description

What makes the Boston 035 unique:

The Boston 035 brings early 20th-century artistry into a modern format, preserving the essence of antique American watchmaking. The dial is a beautiful study in balance and detail: aged to a soft cream hue with visible signs of character earned over nearly a century. Stylized black numerals arc around the perimeter, encircling a decorative center ring adorned with intricate geometric and floral patterns. The blued steel heavy moon hands stretch elegantly across the dial, and a deeply recessed sub-seconds dial at 6 o’clock mirrors the central detailing, giving this watch a layered, architectural feel.

Inside, you’ll find a beautifully preserved 17-jewel movement made by the Waltham Watch Company in 1926. This antique mechanism is visible through the open caseback, where gold-plated gears peek through polished steel components. The bridges are subtly engraved, displaying faint geometric patterns and traditional American watchmaking aesthetics. Each detail honors the engineering legacy of early 20th-century craftsmanship.

We encased this historical movement in a machined stainless steel case, left raw to showcase the natural texture of the tool marks from our machining process—every surface tells a story of its creation. The bezel is angled and finely machined to contrast with the brushed case finish, while the knurled crown adds a touch of industrial ruggedness. Paired with a navy American-made leather strap, this build delivers cool contrast and understated elegance.

This movement was originally manufactured in 1926—the same year Route 66 was officially established, connecting Chicago to Los Angeles and symbolizing American ambition, travel, and innovation. Much like the Mother Road, the Boston 035 is a tribute to journey and endurance, linking the past to the present in a timepiece you can carry anywhere.

Movement Manufacturer Information

The movement inside of this watch was made by Waltham Watch Company. We call this model "The Boston" because of the company's proximity to the city.

Also known as American Watch Company and American Waltham Watch Company, Waltham was one of the leaders in attempting an entirely new concept, machines making machines. Prior to this, a watchmaker would hand-make each part of a movement one-at-a-time. Operating from 1851-1957, Waltham called its product the "Scientific Watch." Waltham's innovative, precise machining techniques made parts interchangeable, and their early version of the assembly line made high-quality watches efficient to produce. Legend has it that Henry Ford drew inspiration for his assembly line production from a visit to Waltham's factory. Located on the bank of the Charles River in "Watch City" (Waltham), Massachusetts, the factory has since been converted to apartment lofts.
