Watch Description

What makes the Boston 465 unique: Today, we’re delighted to present to you this stunning watch originally manufactured by the American Waltham Watch Company — the Boston 465. The front of this remarkable watch showcases a cream-colored dial with stylish black numerals and a matching subdial. Look closely and you'll discover the pocket watch’s breathtaking blued steel heavy moon watch hands. We paired this luxurious pocket watch with our Machined Titanium case and a copper crown. These artisan-designed additions make this historic watch even more unforgettable. Our Machined Titanium case features a transparent back, boasting the pocket watch’s original 1225-grade open-face movement with a Breguet hairspring and stylish “Waltham, U.S.A.” engraving. You can also view the pocket watch’s sumptuous and robust gold-plated gears and 17 jewels throughout its bridge plate. To top the watch off, we equipped it with a comfortable, hand-crafted Rye leather watch strap and a solid bronze machined buckle, tying this luxurious piece together.

The American Waltham Watch Company initially produced the pocket watch in Waltham, Massachusetts, in 1924 — the same year that a group of teenagers founded the oldest Jewish youth fraternity in the United States: the Grand Order of the Aleph Zadik Aleph. The group of Jewish teenagers started the organization in Omaha, Nebraska, and it was a direct response to Jewish teens being overlooked by Greek fraternities.

Movement Manufacturer Information

The movement inside of this watch was made by Waltham Watch Company. We call this model "The Boston" because of the company's proximity to the city.

Also known as American Watch Company and American Waltham Watch Company, Waltham was one of the leaders in attempting an entirely new concept, machines making machines. Prior to this, a watchmaker would hand-make each part of a movement one-at-a-time. Operating from 1851-1957, Waltham called its product the "Scientific Watch." Waltham's innovative, precise machining techniques made parts interchangeable, and their early version of the assembly line made high-quality watches efficient to produce. Legend has it that Henry Ford drew inspiration for his assembly line production from a visit to Waltham's factory. Located on the bank of the Charles River in "Watch City" (Waltham), Massachusetts, the factory has since been converted to apartment lofts.
