Watch Description

What makes the Lancaster 112 unique:

The Lancaster 112 showcases a refined balance between heritage and precision, featuring a remarkably preserved pinstriped dial that has retained its crisp character for nearly a century. Its vertical lines catch the light with subtle movement, highlighting the applied bronze numerals and dotted minute track that encircle the display. The recessed sub-seconds dial at 6 o’clock adds depth, while blued steel arrow-style hands bring contrast and clarity against the champagne-toned background. The overall composition feels both bold and orderly—proof of enduring craftsmanship and timeless American design.

Inside, this timepiece houses a 19-jewel Hamilton movement originally manufactured in 1929. The open-face configuration reveals a beautifully finished array of Geneva-striped bridges and gold-plated gears through the exhibition caseback. Every component of this movement was designed for accuracy and reliability, qualities that defined Hamilton’s excellence during the golden era of American watchmaking.

Encasing this movement is a machined steel case paired with a smooth bronze bezel and a matching knurled bronze crown—an elegant combination of textures that celebrates the artistry of mixed metals. Completing the build is a cognac leather strap with hand-stitched detailing, chosen to complement the warm tones of the dial and bezel.

In 1929, America was on the brink of monumental change as the stock market crash marked the beginning of the Great Depression. Despite economic hardship, Hamilton continued to produce watches of exceptional quality, standing as a symbol of resilience and American craftsmanship—a legacy that The Lancaster 112 proudly preserves.

Movement Manufacturer Information

The movement inside of this watch was made by Hamilton Watch Company. We call this model "The Lancaster" because the company was located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Hamilton is named after famous Pennsylvanian Alexander Hamilton and is the result of multiple re-organizations of attempted watch companies in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1892, Hamilton had a reputation for superior quality and maintained half of the railroad watch market share during some of the most prolific years of American railroad history. During World War II, Hamilton was integral to the production of accurate timepieces for the Military. Deemed "the watch that won the war," the company established an employee-run newsletter so that employees turned soldiers could keep up with life at the factory. While the original factory still stands as luxury apartments, the company stopped producing watches in the US in 1969. Hamilton now produces watches in Switzerland and is owned by the Swatch Group.
