Vortic Watch Company is in need of a full-time Operations Manager to work with our team in Fort Collins, Colorado, overseeing and continuously improving our processes.

Job Title: Operations Manager

Job Type: Full-time, Salary, In-person

Location: 324 Jefferson Street, Fort Collins, CO 80524 (Required)

Hours: Monday through Friday, 8am - 5pm

Education: College degree not required, but please list your education on your resume

Company Overview:

Vortic salvages and restores antique American pocket watch movements and converts them into one-of-a-kind wristwatches, and Colorado Watch Company makes the most American-made wristwatches at scale today.

Role Overview:

As an Operations Manager for a wristwatch manufacturing company, you'll be responsible for standardizing the systems and processes for Vortic Watch Company. After nearly 10 years of work we have determined the best methods behind our efforts, and we are ready for Standard Operating Procedure documents to solidify those methods. Once every process and procedure is documented for every role in the brand, you will help us create those documents for our new brand, Colorado Watch Company.

We are one of the only wristwatch manufacturers in the United States and are on a mission to make as much of a watch here as possible. We do things in Colorado that are typically done in Switzerland and it's your job to help us compete with the massive Swiss and Chinese manufacturers in our industry by standardizing our processes and ensuring the quality of products is repeatable and sustainable for the long term.

At first this role will involve a great deal of patience and organization while you job shadow every single employee and thoroughly document their tasks. Excellent writing and grammar will be imperative as well as interpersonal skills while you befriend and assist each employee. This includes documenting every role in the company from the watchmakers to the machinists, to the CEO.

We are looking for a team player. Someone who’s not afraid to do anything anything asked of them. You should learn these roles in such detail, and get hands on experience with each task such that you’d be able to do the tasks at least temporarily if the particular role were to be out of office. We also need someone with insane attention to detail and impeccable grammar. So much so, that you’ll find a couple errors in this job description, application form, or our website and point them out to us.

Management experience is ideal, but this role will need more leadership skills than management as the goal is to work with the team to not only identify and document what’s happening now, but also determine ways to continuously improve the processes.

Ideally we’d like someone who knows about and cares about watches, so when you apply, include your story of how you got into watches and what watches you own in your application.

All work is to be done in-person Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm at our downtown Fort Collins, Colorado location (324 Jefferson Street). Requests for relocation assistance will be considered on a case-by-case basis. All positions are salaried with benefits.

Starting salary is negotiable and will depend on experience. On-the-job training and apprenticeship are required for the first 3 months at a minimum regardless of experience due to Vortic’s unique business model.

You will have Paid Time Off, access to a Healthcare program starting in 2025, access to a 401k with 5% match after 12 months, and we also have a bonus program based on company sales results. The more watches you help us make, the more we can sell, and as they say, "a rising tide raises all ships."
