Watch Description

What makes the Cleveland 006 unique:

The Cleveland 006 is a distinguished example of American watchmaking heritage. Its vintage Ball Watch Company dial is a stunning work of art, showcasing intricate floral engravings at the center that contrast beautifully with the warm champagne-toned backdrop. The sleek black numerals and gold-tone kite hands elevate the design with sophistication, while the sub-seconds display at 6 o’clock adds a classic touch of precision.

Housed in a machined bronze case with an angled bezel and a knurled bronze crown, this watch offers a balance of durability and elegance. The black Horween leather strap, accented with contrast stitching, enhances its refined aesthetic, making it a timeless addition to any collection.

At the heart of the Cleveland 006 is a meticulously restored 19-jewel Ball movement from 1926—crafted during a pivotal era when Ball movements were renowned for setting railroad timekeeping standards. In that same year, the world witnessed the iconic Route 66 being established, symbolizing innovation and exploration. This historical milestone mirrors the enduring craftsmanship and precision found in the Cleveland 006—a true celebration of history and engineering excellence.

Movement Manufacturer Information

The movement inside of this watch was made by Ball Watch Company. We call this model "The Cleveland" because the company was located within the Cleveland city limits.

Founded by Webb C. Ball in 1891, Ball Watch Company's watches focused on the railroad industry and had a reputation for quality that was second to none. Mr. Ball famously invented and implemented a standard set of watch inspections and requirements to qualify a watch for use on the railroad at a time when timekeeping was paramount to safety. This was known as a "Standard" or "Railroad Grade" watch. The core of the manufacturing for these watches was performed by Hamilton and Waltham Watch Companies, but the adjustment, finishing, and testing performed by Ball set them ahead of the pack. One of the few companies still in existence, Ball now makes watches in Switzerland and is owned by Hong Kong group Asia Commercial Holdings Ltd.
