Watch Description

What makes the Indiana 007 unique: America has experienced many monumental years since its independence. 1915 was the year that Colorado's Rocky Mountain National Park was established by the U.S. Congress. In Detroit that same year, the first-ever Stop sign was erected. In South Bend, Indiana, on the banks of the St. Joseph River, 1915 was the year a watch company created by the 3 sons of Studebaker Automobile Company's founder produced this incredible South Bend pocket watch.

This 12-size pocket watch features an extremely unique textile textured dial with thin, angular numerals surrounding a gleaming, golden, asymmetrical relief pattern and a polished seconds subdial, which, in the 109 years since 1915, has aged perfectly to showcase its antique nature.

Its beautifully engineered 19-jewel movement utilizes a unique composition with no plates and thinner bridges that allow much more of the inner workings to be viewed and admired. It features Geneva striping, gold-capped jewels, and a crown wheel and ratchet wheel decorated with starburst patterns reminiscent of Independence Day fireworks.

The design of this pocket watch's Vortic conversion has been meticulously balanced. The machined stainless steel case provides a perfect contrast to the opulence of the dial, and its bronze crown complements and highlights the gold dial components. It is enclosed on both sides by ultra-durable sapphire crystal and has been fitted with a light tan 24 mm leather strap which has been crafted in America with leather from American cattle.

From 1915 until 2024 this watch has represented the best of American watchmaking, of the people, by the people, and for the people. From South Bend, Indiana to Fort Collins, Colorado, this Vortic conversion is ready to accompany you wherever you go, from sea to shining sea.

Movement Manufacturer Information

The movement inside of this watch was made by South Bend Watch Company. We call this model "The Indiana" because the company was located in South Bend, Indiana.

Founded in 1902 by sons of the Studebaker Auto Company, South Bend Watch company started producing high-quality watches in 1905 using equipment and employees liquidated from the failed Columbus Watch Company. While initially successful, the company's use of an "on credit" payment system led to its downfall during the stock market crash of 1929. A fire finally destroyed the original factory in 1957.
