Watch Description

What makes the Lancaster 057 unique: Legacies are not built upon our best or worst tendencies but upon that which we consistently do. For the Hamilton Watch Company of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, the pocket watch we converted to create this unique and beautiful timepiece showcases what they did consistently throughout their 70+ years manufacturing pocket watches: offering customers attractive, high-quality, attainable products built to stand the test of time.

The Lancaster 057 embodies the ethos of Hamilton with an ivory dial, aged gracefully by its 100 years, legible and stylized Arabic numerals, a recessed seconds sub-dial, and arrow hands that have been expertly heat-blued by American craftsmen and are just as vivid and eye-catching now as they were in 1924.

The 17-jewel Hamilton 916 manual-wind movement follows the theme. Its no-nonsense three-quarter plate design is punctuated by Geneva striping and polished jewel caps, with gold-plated wheels visible between the balance wheel and the plates.

The tan strap, bronze case, coin-edged bezel, and crown highlight the warmth of the dial color and were crafted in our Colorado workshop with the same commitment to creating beautiful, robust, high-quality watches that can be there for whatever life throws your way and look great doing it.

Movement Manufacturer Information

The movement inside of this watch was made by Hamilton Watch Company. We call this model "The Lancaster" because the company was located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Hamilton is named after famous Pennsylvanian Alexander Hamilton and is the result of multiple re-organizations of attempted watch companies in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1892, Hamilton had a reputation for superior quality and maintained half of the railroad watch market share during some of the most prolific years of American railroad history. During World War II, Hamilton was integral to the production of accurate timepieces for the Military. Deemed "the watch that won the war," the company established an employee-run newsletter so that employees turned soldiers could keep up with life at the factory. While the original factory still stands as luxury apartments, the company stopped producing watches in the US in 1969. Hamilton now produces watches in Switzerland and is owned by the Swatch Group.
