Watch Description

What makes the Lancaster 087 unique:

The Lancaster 087 features a stunning brilliant white dial with bold black numerals and crisp spade hands, creating an eye-catching contrast that feels both refined and highly legible. The subtle railroad-style minute track around the perimeter adds an element of precision, nodding to the era when Hamilton pocket watches were trusted for accuracy on the railways. This pristine dial, protected for nearly a century, now finds new life in a one-of-a-kind wristwatch.

Housed inside is a Hamilton 922 movement, originally crafted in 1928, boasting an impressive 23 jewels—a hallmark of high-grade precision watchmaking. During the early 20th century, 23-jewel movements were considered top-tier, designed to reduce friction and improve accuracy for professionals who demanded the best. That same year, Philo Farnsworth demonstrated the first fully functional television, an innovation that would forever change the way people received information. In a time of rapid technological advancement, Hamilton was equally committed to pushing the limits of American horology, and this movement is a testament to that era of precision engineering.

We housed this extraordinary movement in a sandblasted stainless steel case with a polished steel bezel, creating a striking contrast between rugged durability and refined elegance. The black leather strap with contrast stitching adds a sophisticated touch, tying together the vintage dial with a modern, handcrafted aesthetic. The Lancaster 087 is a piece of history, reimagined for those who appreciate craftsmanship, innovation, and timeless design.

Movement Manufacturer Information

The movement inside of this watch was made by Hamilton Watch Company. We call this model "The Lancaster" because the company was located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Hamilton is named after famous Pennsylvanian Alexander Hamilton and is the result of multiple re-organizations of attempted watch companies in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1892, Hamilton had a reputation for superior quality and maintained half of the railroad watch market share during some of the most prolific years of American railroad history. During World War II, Hamilton was integral to the production of accurate timepieces for the Military. Deemed "the watch that won the war," the company established an employee-run newsletter so that employees turned soldiers could keep up with life at the factory. While the original factory still stands as luxury apartments, the company stopped producing watches in the US in 1969. Hamilton now produces watches in Switzerland and is owned by the Swatch Group.
