Watch Description

What makes the Springfield 077 unique:

The Springfield 077 is a striking timepiece that commands attention with its stunning golden dial. The intricate guilloché pattern creates a captivating texture, enhanced by bold, gold-tone numerals that shimmer under the light. Paired with deep blue spade & whip hands and a sunken sub-seconds dial, this watch is a testament to the fine craftsmanship of the early 20th century. Every detail on the dial tells a story—one of artistry, innovation, and the enduring legacy of American watchmaking.

Housed within this timepiece is a 17-jewel Illinois Stewart Special movement, a designation that speaks to its high-grade construction and reliability. Manufactured in 1921, this movement was built in an era of rapid industrial growth, the same year the first radio baseball game was broadcasted, revolutionizing how Americans engaged with their favorite pastime. Just as radio brought the game into homes across the country, watches like this one kept time for the businessmen, engineers, and workers driving America’s progress.

To complement the warm golden tones of the dial, we encased this movement in our machined stainless steel case, offering both durability and a refined aesthetic. A textured crown and coin-edged bezel add vintage-inspired details, while the rich blue leather strap provides a bold contrast that ties the entire piece together. The Springfield 077 is a reminder of a golden age of watchmaking—restored, preserved, and ready to be worn for another century.

Movement Manufacturer Information

The movement inside of this watch was made by Illinois Watch Company. We call this model "The Springfield" because the company was located in Springfield, Illinois.

Originally called the Springfield Watch Company, Illinois came to Springfield, Illinois in 1869 while the "modern" watch industry was fairly new but highly promising. City officials felt that the addition of industry to the city of Springfield would be excellent for the city's growth. However, after a series of failures and re-brandings, the company had a slow start until 1903 when they decided to manufacture high-quality watches only. Eventually making some of the most beautiful watches of their time, the company sold to Hamilton in 1927. Hamilton continued producing watches under the Illinois name for some time, but the original Springfield factory no longer stands.
