Watch Description

What makes the Springfield 081 unique: The Springfield 081 showcases a dial design that’s both elegant and bold, drawing attention with its distinctive vertical pattern. Each detail of this watch tells a story, from the strong numerals to the sub-seconds dial at 6 o’clock, creating a timeless aesthetic that feels both vintage and modern.

At its heart is an original Illinois movement, a testament to American watchmaking from the early 1900s. Known for their precision, Illinois movements represent a golden era of craftsmanship, and this piece captures that legacy beautifully. Encased in lightweight, sandblasted titanium, it’s a blend of durability and sophistication, complete with a smooth bezel and finely crafted crown.

The Springfield 081 isn’t just a watch; it’s a tribute to American heritage, reimagined for today. With its rich history, unique dial, and meticulously restored movement, this piece is designed for those who appreciate a blend of historical significance and modern artistry.

Movement Manufacturer Information

The movement inside of this watch was made by Illinois Watch Company. We call this model "The Springfield" because the company was located in Springfield, Illinois.

Originally called the Springfield Watch Company, Illinois came to Springfield, Illinois in 1869 while the "modern" watch industry was fairly new but highly promising. City officials felt that the addition of industry to the city of Springfield would be excellent for the city's growth. However, after a series of failures and re-brandings, the company had a slow start until 1903 when they decided to manufacture high-quality watches only. Eventually making some of the most beautiful watches of their time, the company sold to Hamilton in 1927. Hamilton continued producing watches under the Illinois name for some time, but the original Springfield factory no longer stands.
