Watch Description

What makes the Springfield 095 unique: This week’s featured watch is a timeless transformation of an Illinois movement from 1916 into a wearable masterpiece. Imagine this: over a hundred years ago, a watchmaker in Illinois meticulously assembled this very mechanism, unaware that it would one day find a second life as a modern wristwatch.

The golden textured dial immediately catches the eye, evoking the elegance of an Art Deco masterpiece. The vertical grooves draw you in, a reminder of the era’s bold designs and attention to detail. Accentuated by rich blue-steeled hands, the dial feels alive—an understated yet stunning tribute to classic American design.

Encased in durable steel, this watch is built to last a lifetime, adding each new adventure you have to the extensive list of stories it can tell. This incredible vintage timepiece, now reimagined for the modern collector, features a deep blue leather strap that completes the look, marrying heritage with contemporary style.

This watch doesn’t just tell time—it carries the weight of a century’s worth of history. It’s a reminder that craftsmanship, quality, and passion are, no pun intended, completely timeless.

Movement Manufacturer Information

The movement inside of this watch was made by Illinois Watch Company. We call this model "The Springfield" because the company was located in Springfield, Illinois.

Originally called the Springfield Watch Company, Illinois came to Springfield, Illinois in 1869 while the "modern" watch industry was fairly new but highly promising. City officials felt that the addition of industry to the city of Springfield would be excellent for the city's growth. However, after a series of failures and re-brandings, the company had a slow start until 1903 when they decided to manufacture high-quality watches only. Eventually making some of the most beautiful watches of their time, the company sold to Hamilton in 1927. Hamilton continued producing watches under the Illinois name for some time, but the original Springfield factory no longer stands.
