Watch Description

What makes the Springfield 100 unique:

The Springfield 100 features a radiant gold dial with a captivating checkered sunburst design, embodying the elegance of early 20th-century craftsmanship. The warmth of the dial is beautifully contrasted by bold black numerals and blued kite hands, creating a striking visual appeal. A sub-second dial at six o’clock adds a functional, vintage charm to this historic piece.

At the heart of this watch beats a 23-jewel Illinois Watch Company movement from 1921, representing precision and durability. This manual-wind movement, expertly restored, reflects the pinnacle of American watchmaking heritage, blending historical significance with modern reliability.

The warm tones of the gold dial, bronze crown, and camel-colored leather strap stand out against the sleek machined stainless steel case and refined coin-edge bezel. This interplay of materials adds depth and character, making the Springfield 100 a perfect fusion of vintage aesthetics and modern craftsmanship. A true celebration of American horology.

Movement Manufacturer Information

The movement inside of this watch was made by Illinois Watch Company. We call this model "The Springfield" because the company was located in Springfield, Illinois.

Originally called the Springfield Watch Company, Illinois came to Springfield, Illinois in 1869 while the "modern" watch industry was fairly new but highly promising. City officials felt that the addition of industry to the city of Springfield would be excellent for the city's growth. However, after a series of failures and re-brandings, the company had a slow start until 1903 when they decided to manufacture high-quality watches only. Eventually making some of the most beautiful watches of their time, the company sold to Hamilton in 1927. Hamilton continued producing watches under the Illinois name for some time, but the original Springfield factory no longer stands.
